The University of Zimbabwe has opened a web portal on their main website that allows prospective students to register for courses of interest. This saves time and effort, from one needing to go to their offices and doing the task there, however, a prospective student still has to make their way to the UZ and pay the non-refundable $20 application fee.
If you are applying for either undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma or an MBA the process is the same and to make life easier for you you will need to have your O’ and A’ Level certificates at hand (unless you can remember what your school centre and candidate numbers were off head).
As much as they state that they have ‘Special’ and ‘Mature’ entry (which ordinarily would not need your to have high marks for O’ Levels and may not need you to have A’ Levels at all) the website does not allow you to continue if you fail to enter those details.
On speaking to the university, they say that ‘Special’ and ‘Mature’ entry can only be provided if the intake for that period is not too competitive and they fail to meet their quota of students.
The University of Zimbabwe now has two intakes a year commencing this year, being in February and August. The deadline for February intake is 7 February and for August is July.
