The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) under their newly formed National Building Society (NBS) which is to start operating as early as end of March this year will be providing to civil servants and the average worker low cost mortgage loans seeing them repay as little as $200 per month.
The housing scheme that is tailor-made for low income earners will see beneficiaries paying an amount that is not too different from what they are paying for rental already. The project is to kick off later this year with the first phase being in Glaudina, Harare (just off Bulawayo Road).
Government is reported to be channeling as much as $30m towards the NBS in order to meet Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe requirements to make their provisional licence permanent.
