The much awaited verdict is out! Winky D‘s hit song Disappear (download) is Zimbabwe’s Outstanding Song of the Year. The Zimdancehall artists was awarded the prestigious NAMA award at the 2016 ceremony held at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare yesterday (13 February).

Disappear came tops, beating equally extremely popular song Eriza by Jah Prayzah. Killer T‘s song Tirikuda Kumbofarawo was also vying for the top spot.

The award is also great news for Zimbabwe’s hot producer Oskid, who arranged the song for Winky D.

Commenting on the award on his Facebook page Winky D said:

Disappear is on Winky D’s Gafa Life album released in October 2015.  The song has been wildly popular not only in Zimbabwe but Africa as a whole. Disappear featured on BBC Radio 1 Extra Destination Africa Top 5 chart. The song has also been covered by several internet by fans on YouTube as well as fellow artists like Tariro ne Gitare.

Disappear has also been nominated for the Zimdancehall awards where again, it’s competing against Killer T’s Tirikuda Kumbofarawo. If this award is anything to go by, Killer T might as well not look forward to scooping the award at the Zimdancehall awards show due in just over 2 weeks from now.
