It’s not easy to make it out of Zimbabwe as a musician, especially when you hear what great talent is available on the planet. Few individuals have managed to leave the Zimbabwean flavour on the ears of people abroad, but of those that have many a time the likes of Oliver Mtukudzi, Thomsa Mapfumo and Leonard Dembo come to mind.
But when we take the time to dig deeper, a great breed of up and coming talent are making a name for us worldwide.
Here is a list of 13 singers who are gracing the music players of the world and we see no reason why we all should not be indulging in their talent. They have made it onto American Idols, Australian Idols, Channel O awards as well as receive over 1.4m views on YouTube alone.
1. Riv Ngwenya
Riv Ngwenya shot to fame with her Australian X-Factor performance of Alicia Keys’ If I ain’t got you that would see her to the next round.
